Baseball Recap: Bethlehem Central Comes Up Short

The matchup between Bethlehem Central and Saratoga Springs on Friday hardly resembled the 2-1 effort from their previous meeting. The Eagles lost 17-3 to the Blue Streaks. The defeat continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Blue Streaks: they've now lost four in a row.

Bethlehem Central got a good showing from Evan O'Connell, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Bethlehem Central saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Eli Proper, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Bethlehem Central's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Saratoga Springs, their win was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-1.
