Baseball Recap: Broomfield Starts Season with Win Against Mullen

Broomfield gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They walked away with an 8-3 win over the Mullen Mustangs. For the Eagles, this counts as revenge for the 7-6 victory the Mustangs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

Broomfield's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Tripp Bemis, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Jake Orvis was another, scoring a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Mullen's record now sits at 0-2.

Looking ahead, Broomfield will head out to challenge Douglas County at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mullen, they will face off against Mount St. Mary at 1:00 p.m. on March 20th.
