Basketball Recap: Oley Valley Comes Up Short

The Oley Valley Lynx took a blow against the Cocalico Eagles on Wednesday, falling 76-47. While losing is never fun, the Lynx can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 401st, while the Eagles are ranked 126th).

Several Lynx players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Luke Turchi, who went 8-for-16 to rack up 17 points and five rebounds. The contest was Turchi's fourth in a row with at least 17 points. Another player making a difference was Luke Williamson, who posted six points and four steals.

Oley Valley's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-6. As for Cocalico, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-3.

Oley Valley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 71-69 defeat against Wyomissing on the 16th. As for Cocalico, they have also already played their next matchup, a 78-52 victory against Garden Spot on the 16th.
