Howland came tearing into Monday's contest with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Ursuline Fighting Irish by a score of 4-1. That's more bragging rights for the Tigers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Howland got a great performance from Elliot Gebhardt as he didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. Gebhardt has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Howland's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Luca Fronzaglio, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Fronzaglio has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Another was Keaton Perry, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Howland's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-9. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Ursuline, their loss dropped their record down to 14-11.
