Basketball Recap: John Mcgowin's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Mooseheart over Christian Liberty

Mooseheart lost against Christian Liberty back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Mooseheart Red Ramblers came up short against the Christian Liberty Chargers, falling 77-53. The Red Ramblers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Mooseheart's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was John McGowin, who went 8 for 13 on his way to 21 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Nishi Amos, who went 6 for 11 on his way to 12 points and five steals.

Mooseheart's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Christian Liberty, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.

Mooseheart will be playing in front of their home fans against South Beloit at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Christian Liberty, they will take on Cristo Rey St. Martin at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
