Basketball Recap: Uintah Comes Up Short

Uintah was the 69-59 winner over Mountain View when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Uintah Utes were just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 60-59 to the Mountain View Bruins.

Despite the loss, Uintah still got an impressive performance from Dauson Gardiner, who almost dropped a double-double on 24 points and nine rebounds. The match was Gardiner's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Gideon Owen was another key player, putting up eight points in addition to ten boards and three blocks.

Brennan Olsen was his usual excellent self, going 8 of 15 en route to 24 points for Mountain View. Another player making a difference was Joshua Hair, who posted 11 points and six steals.

Uintah dropped their record down to 12-7 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Mountain View, with the win, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-12.

Uintah has already played their next contest, a 60-52 victory against Grand Junction on the 25th. As for Mountain View, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 62-54 defeat against Timpanogos on the 28th.
