The Patrick County Cougars are taking a road trip to square off against the Glenvar Highlanders at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Patrick County is coming into the contest hot, having won their last eight games.
It was a proper cat-fight when Patrick County challenged Radford on Tuesday. The Cougars came out on top against the Bobcats by a score of 8-3.
Jenna Woods made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Woods was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That double was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Journey Moore was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last seven times she's played. Lauren Hazelwood was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Patrick County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Radford only posted a batting average of .269.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Glenvar). They walked away with a 13-10 win over Radford on Thursday.
Patrick County's record is now 15-3. As for Glenvar, their victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-8 and their overall record up to 4-15.
Patrick County got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in April against Glenvar by a conclusive 10-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
