Basketball Game Preview: Morristown Yellow Jackets vs. Traders Point Christian Knights

The Morristown Yellow Jackets and the Traders Point Christian Knights will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

Traders Point Christian is hoping to do what Southwestern couldn't on Tuesday: put an end to Morristown's winning streak, which now stands at four games. Morristown blew past Southwestern 63-6. The Yellow Jackets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 33 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Nevaeh Sanders, who went 10 of 15 en route to 21 points and four steals. Her evening made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Danika Rutledge, who went 6 of 7 on her way to 12 points.

Morristown smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in four consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Traders Point Christian hadn't done well against Bethesda Christian recently (they were 0-8 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way last Monday. Everything went Traders Point Christian's way against Bethesda Christian as Traders Point Christian made off with a 57-31 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Knights.

Morristown's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-6. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.4 points per game. As for Traders Point Christian, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-6.

Everything came up roses for Morristown against Traders Point Christian when the teams last played back in January of 2021, as the squad secured a 64-25 win.
