Baseball Recap: Fairview Gets the Win

Fairview won the last time they faced Frederick and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Knights came out on top against the Golden Eagles by a score of 5-1.

Owen Max made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Jack Espiritu-Niswonger was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two triples, one run, and one RBI. Those two triples gave him a new career-high. Isaac Waymire was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Fairview now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Frederick, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-8.

Coming up, Fairview will head out on the road to challenge Niwot at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Knights are facing the Cougars at the right time seeing as the Cougars are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Frederick, they will face off against Erie at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Golden Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season.
