Basketball Recap: Effingham Comes Up Short

Effingham has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 68-61 to the Mahomet-Seymour Bulldogs on Saturday. The Hearts were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bulldogs earlier this season, when they won 60-54.

Effingham's loss dropped their record down to 20-7. As for Mahomet-Seymour, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Effingham will challenge Charleston at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mahomet-Seymour, they will square off against Taylorville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
