Baseball Game Preview: Sunnyslope Vikings vs. Desert Vista Thunder

For the second straight game, Sunnyslope will face off against Desert Vista. The Vikings will be playing at home against the Thunder at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Sunnyslope is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

On Monday, Sunnyslope came up short against Desert Vista and fell 7-4.

For Desert Vista's part, Kason Webb looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Webb has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jayden Garrison, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Gutierrez, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Desert Vista was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Sunnyslope's defeat dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Desert Vista, their victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 13-6.
