Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Elodie Ware and Dea Singh Lead Wellington School to Victory

On Monday, the Wellington School Jaguars were able to grind out a solid victory over the Dunbar Wolverines, taking the game 49-40. The win was all the more spectacular given the Jaguars' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 278th, while the Wolverines are ranked 91st).

Leading Wellington School to victory were Dea Singh and Elodie Ware. Singh shot 7-for-9 from downtown and dropped a double-double on 25 points and 12 rebounds, while Ware went 8 of 16 on her way to 21 points along with six rebounds and three blocks. The dominant performance gave Singh a new career-high in boards.

Wellington School pushed their record up to 6-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Dunbar, with the loss, they broke their seven-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wellington School will host Berne Union at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Dunbar, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Meadowdale at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Dunbar is facing Meadowdale at the right time seeing as Meadowdale is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
