Baseball Game Preview: Cornerstone Christian Academy Bulldogs vs. Heritage Academy Eagles

The Cornerstone Christian Academy Bulldogs will face off against the Heritage Academy Eagles at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.

Cornerstone Christian Academy is headed into Saturday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game dating back to last season on Thursday. They came up short against Eminence, falling 13-0.

Meanwhile, Heritage Academy got the win against Dayton last Wednesday by a conclusive 10-2. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won four contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Austin Brown was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Heritage Academy is 3-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 1-2 otherwise. Brown was even better at the plate, scoring four runs and stealing five bases while going 4-for-4.

Brown wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Benjamin Brown, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3. Benjamin has become a key player for Heritage Academy: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-3 otherwise.

Heritage Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Dayton only posted a batting average of .087.

Heritage Academy now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Cornerstone Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
