Football Recap: Cupertino Comes Up Short

Cupertino extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to six on Friday, dropping them down to 0-5. They had to suffer through a 44-7 loss at the hands of the MacDonald Condor. The Pioneers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-0.

When it comes to explaining why Cupertino lost, don't look at Brandon Cheng. Despite the final result, he rushed for 165 yards and one score on only 13 carries, and also picked up 42 receiving yards. Cheng's longest rush was for an impressive 65 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

As for MacDonald, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0. The team's perfect season has a lot to do with their offensive performance: the team's won by an average of 28 points thus far.

Ethan Bugarin was nothing short of spectacular: he picked up 107 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. That's the most receiving yards he has posted since back in October of 2024.

Cupertino has already played their next matchup, a 38-7 loss against Homestead on the 9th. As for MacDonald, they will head out on the road to square off against Jefferson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
