Basketball Game Preview: Waterloo Bulldogs vs. Mascoutah Indians

Waterloo hasn't had much luck against Mascoutah recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Waterloo Bulldogs will venture away from home to challenge the Mascoutah Indians at 7:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Last Tuesday, Waterloo came up short against Columbia and fell 50-39. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Mascoutah was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost to Edwardsville at home by a 64-45 margin. The defeat was just more heartbreak for the Indians who fell 54-52 when the teams previously met back in February of 2023.

Mascoutah's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Waterloo, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-7.

Waterloo was able to grind out a solid win over Mascoutah when the teams last played back in December of 2024, winning 50-39. The rematch might be a little tougher for Waterloo since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
