Baseball Recap: Monroe Gets the Win

Monroe never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 victory over the East Troy Trojans. For the Cheesemakers, this counts as revenge for the 5-2 win the Trojans walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Not much got past Ian Berg, who gave up just three hits and racked up seven Ks to keep East Troy off the board.

At the plate, Monroe secured the victory behind a pair of hitters. One of them was Trent Wyss, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Monroe's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-8. As for East Troy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-7.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Monroe beat the Trojans by a score of 1-0 on Thursday.
