Softball Recap: Gray Stone Day Comes Up Short

Gray Stone Day was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against the North Stanly Comets, falling 17-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Comets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 18-3 last Tuesday.

Gray Stone Day saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was London Gray, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

Gray Stone Day's defeat dropped their record down to 3-10. As for North Stanly, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Gray Stone Day will challenge rival Albemarle at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, North Stanly is set to square off against their familiar foe Mount Pleasant at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
