On Friday, University Lab faced Alexandria in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The University Lab Cubs never let the Alexandria Trojans onto the board and left with a 4-0 win. The Cubs' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last three games.

University Lab is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which lines up perfectly with their 7-1-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those five contests. As for Alexandria, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-3-2.

University Lab didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next game, a 2-1 loss against Lakeshore on the 14th. Alexandria will take on West Monroe in a holiday battle at at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. West Monroe will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Alexandria surely won't give up without a fight.
