Recap: Great Crossing vs. Madison Central Indians
Great Crossing waltzed into their contest on Friday with three straight wins but they left with four. They managed a 57-51 victory over Madison Central. Given Great Crossing's advantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked first, while Madison Central is ranked 142nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Great Crossing's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jeremiah Godfrey, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Malachi Moreno was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with nine rebounds and three blocks.
Great Crossing's win was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-1. As for Madison Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-13.
Great Crossing on the road again on Sunday and play against Princeton at 4:30 p.m. on January 14th. As for Madison Central, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against West Jessamine at 7:30 p.m.
