Basketball Recap: Millard North Starts Season with Win Against Millard West

Millard North gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 58-40 victory over the Millard West Wildcats. The Mustangs pushed the score to 46-25 by the end of the third, a deficit the Wildcats cut but never quite recovered from.

Major Mosser was the offensive standout of the game as he dropped a double-double with 14 points and 14 rebounds. He is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last five games he's played dating back to last season. Jack Chambers was another key player, putting up eight points and seven boards.

Millard North smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Millard West only pulled down six.

When it comes to explaining why Millard West lost, don't look at Jacob Morrison. Despite the final result, he posted 12 points and three blocks. Another player making a difference was Vincent Long, who had 12 points and five rebounds.

Millard North didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 68-44 win against Bellevue West on the 6th. As for Millard West, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 67-58 defeat against Skutt Catholic on the 6th.
