Basketball Recap: Davan Earhart Key Part of a Team Effort in Spartans Win

There's no place like home for East Nicolaus, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They came out on top against the Pierce Bears by a score of 53-40 on Friday. This was payback for the Spartans, who suffered a 56-46 defeat the last time these two teams met.

East Nicolaus got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Davan Earhart out in front who went 6 for 15 on his way to 15 points and seven boards. Another player making a difference was Jayden Marshall, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.

East Nicolaus smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pierce only pulled down seven offensive rebounds.

Pierce lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Calvin Bair, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten boards. The dominant performance gave Bair a new career-high in points. Jonathon Vazquez also deserves some recognition as he grabbed his first steal of the season.

East Nicolaus has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.8 points per game. As for Pierce, they dropped their record down to 8-14 with the loss, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.

East Nicolaus has already played their next game, a 49-32 defeat against Durham on the 27th. As for Pierce, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 56-27 loss against Winters on the 27th.
