Recap: Prairie View Buffalos vs. Oswego Indians

The Prairie View Buffalos can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. They enjoyed a cozy 55-37 win over Oswego. Prairie View's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Prairie View found their leader in underclassman Payton Hopper, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds. That's the first time this season that Hopper scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Joseph Sramek, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.

Several Indians players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Josh Hutchinson, who scored 17 points along with two steals. Hutchinson continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Tanner O'neal was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with seven rebounds.

Prairie View's victory ended a ten-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-6. As for Oswego, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.

Prairie View won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Osawatomie at 8:30 p.m. on January 18th. Osawatomie is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 52.8 points per game. As for Oswego, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Uniontown at 8:30 p.m. on January 18th.
