Soccer Game Preview: Terra Linda vs. Novato

The Terra Linda Trojans will face off against the Novato Hornets at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Back in December of 2024, Terra Linda didn't have quite enough to beat Acalanes and fell 2-1. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 525th, while the Dons are ranked 112th).

Terra Linda's goal came courtesy of Johan Cifuentes, who's now up to six this season.

Meanwhile, Novato was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Urban. The contest was a 1-1 toss-up at halftime, but the Hornets couldn't quite close it out.

Novato's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Terra Linda, they now have a losing record at 2-3-1.

Terra Linda beat Novato 2-0 in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. Will Terra Linda repeat their success, or does Novato have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
