Baseball Recap: Caney Comes Up Short

Caney was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 9-3 to the Calera Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-0 back in March.

Caney's loss dropped their record down to 14-14. As for Calera, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-2 record this season.

Caney and Calera should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Oklahoma Rankings. The Cougars (ranked 162nd) will meet Pittsburg (ranked 382nd) at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Calera will take on Wynnewood at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (16 vs. 274).
