Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Woodward Academy walked away with it. They enjoyed a cozy 85-66 victory over the Dutchtown Bulldogs on Wednesday. The War Eagles' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Woodward Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Z Williams, who went 12-for-20 to rack up 25 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Those 25 points gave Williams a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayla Whitner, who went 8-for-13 on her way to 21 points and three blocks.

Woodward Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 16 consecutive matchups.

Woodward Academy's victory was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-5. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.7 points over those games. As for Dutchtown, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 15-14.

Coming up, Woodward Academy will square off against Creekview on Friday. One thing working in Woodward Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 16 contests. Dutchtown does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
