Basketball Game Preview: Cory-Rawson Fighting Hornets vs. North Baltimore Tigers

The Cory-Rawson Fighting Hornets will venture away from home to face off against the North Baltimore Tigers at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Cory-Rawson took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They walked away with a 52-44 victory over Arlington.

Meanwhile, North Baltimore came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 45-37.

Cory-Rawson better keep an eye on Lacie Allison. She was instrumental in North Baltimore's win, almost dropping a double-double with 26 points and nine rebounds. The contest was Allison's 20th in a row with at least 16 points. Josselyn Paynter was another key player, putting up seven points and 11 boards.

North Baltimore's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-7. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy: their three-point shooting accuracy was 38.8% in those games and 28% outside of them. As for Cory-Rawson, their victory bumped their record up to 7-15.

Cory-Rawson didn't have too much breathing room in their game against North Baltimore in their previous matchup back in January, but they still walked away with a 34-30 win.
