KIPP University Prep will be playing in front of their home fans against the IDEA Monterrey Park College Prep Bears at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. IDEA Monterrey Park College Prep took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on KIPP University Prep, who comes in off a win.
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only KIPP University Prep walked away with it. They came out on top against the by a score of 61-49 on Wednesday.
Sergio Murillo was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 29 points and 17 rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of KIPP University Prep's points. Raymond Ruiz was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five steals.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to IDEA Monterrey Park College Prep, who are still winless after their seventh match. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 58-32 walloping at the hands of Keene back in November of 2023.
KIPP University Prep is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. As for IDEA Monterrey Park College Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7.
KIPP University Prep beat the Bears 53-46 in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Will KIPP University Prep repeat their success, or do the Bears have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
