Softball Recap: Leesville Takes a Loss

The matchup between Leesville and DeRidder on Tuesday hardly resembled the 2-1 effort from their previous meeting. The Wampus Cats lost 13-7 to the Dragons. The loss continues a trend for the Wampus Cats in their meetings with the Dragons: they've now lost four in a row.

Kadence Reibold and Avery Bealer stepped up to the plate in a big way. Reibold scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances, while Bealer scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Aubrey Rowlands was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Leesville now has a losing record of 8-9. As for DeRidder, their win bumped their record up to 11-14.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Leesville is set to take on their familiar foe Washington-Marion at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, DeRidder will challenge rival LaGrange at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
