Basketball Game Preview: Tolman/Shea vs. Chariho Chargers

Tolman/Shea will take on the Chariho Chargers at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, Tolman/Shea turned things around against Classical on Wednesday. They secured a 57-53 W over the Purple. The score was all tied up 22-22 at the break, but Tolman/Shea was the better team in the second half.

Tolman/Shea's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tiyara Gonzalez, who almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine steals. Gonzalez is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Zareia Colome, who posted 27 points.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Chariho, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They managed a 36-30 victory over South Kingstown on Wednesday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Chargers as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Tolman/Shea's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-7. As for Chariho, their win bumped their record up to 3-9.
