Basketball Game Preview: Comeaux Spartans vs. Westgate Tigers

The Comeaux Spartans will head out on the road to challenge the Westgate Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Comeaux is headed into the matchup having just suffered their biggest loss since January 20th on Tuesday. They came up short against David Thibodaux, falling 62-41. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 237th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 22nd).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Westgate, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat North Vermilion 69-41.

Westgate pushed their record up to 19-13 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.0 points over those games. As for Comeaux, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 16-25.

Comeaux skirted past Westgate 2-0 when the teams last played back in January. Does Comeaux have another victory up their sleeve, or will Westgate turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
