Recap: Southwestern Warriors vs. Pikeville Panthers        
        
		
            
 It was a good run, but  the Southwestern Warriors unfortunately witnessed the end of their  three-game winning streak on Friday. They were outmatched by Pikeville on the road  and fell  68-37. Southwestern was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at  34-14.
 When it comes to explaining why Southwestern lost, one person who can't be blamed is  Kinsley Molden. Despite the final result, she  scored 17 points. The  game was  Molden's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of  Payton  Acey, who  scored eight points along with eight  rebounds.
 Southwestern's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Pikeville, their win was  their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which  pushed their record up to 6-0.
 Southwestern won't have much time to rest: their next  contest is against Meade County at 1:45  p.m.  on December 30th. Meade County presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Southwestern in Kentucky (Meade County is ranked seventh, while Southwestern is ranked 75th). Pikeville and Paintsville will face off  at 7:30  p.m.  on January 5, 2024 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Paintsville has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 282 points over their last four games.
