Basketball Recap: Overland Trailblazers vs. Mountain Vista Golden Eagles
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Overland can now relate to. They took an 88-77 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mountain Vista Golden Eagles on Tuesday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (74), the Trailblazers still had to take the loss.

Defeat or not, Overland got some senior leadership from Tj Manuel and Siraaj Ali. Manuel went 7-for-10 en route to 20 points, while Ali shot 44% from the field on his way to 20 points and five assists. Ali's big performance that evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dontae Graham, who went 5-for-9 to rack up 10 points and seven boards.
Oliver Junker was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 30 points and 20 rebounds for Mountain Vista. That's the most boards Junker has posted since back in January. Hudson Rooney was another key player, putting up 18 points.
Overland's loss dropped their record down to 11-14. As for Mountain Vista, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season.
Overland does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mountain Vista, they will face off against Chaparral at 1:15 p.m. on Saturday. Mountain Vista knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 25 matches -- so hopefully Chaparral likes a good challenge.
