Baseball Game Preview: Bald Knob Bulldogs vs. Riverview Raiders

Bald Knob is a perfect 9-0 against Riverview since March of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will head out to square off against the Raiders at 4:30 p.m. Bald Knob has given up an average of 8.3 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Bald Knob is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They came out on top against Midland by a score of 19-14 on Monday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Bulldogs as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Jameson Glaze made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched 2.1 innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gavin Mitsunaga, who scored two runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Dakota Shoebottom, who scored three runs while going 1-for-6.

Meanwhile, Riverview came up short against Mountain View on Friday and fell 6-3. The Raiders haven't had much luck with the Yellowjackets recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

The win got Bald Knob back to even at 7-7. As for Riverview, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-8.

Bald Knob was able to grind out a solid victory over Riverview in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, winning 11-7. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
