Soccer Game Preview: Peoria vs. Deer Valley

Peoria is 1-7 against Deer Valley since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Peoria Panthers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Deer Valley Skyhawks at 6:00 p.m.

Peoria came up short against Greenway on Wednesday, falling 6-1.

Peoria's goal came courtesy of Francesca Gil, who's now up to ten this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Deer Valley). They never let Agua Fria onto the board and left with an 8-0 win on Wednesday. The score was close at the half, but the Skyhawks pulled away in the second half with seven goals.

The victory (which was Deer Valley's third in a row) raised their record to 6-3-1. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three matches. As for Peoria, their loss dropped their record down to 3-10.

Peoria took their win against Deer Valley when the teams last played back in January of 2024 by a conclusive 4-0. Will Peoria repeat their success, or does Deer Valley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
