Baseball Recap: Vidalia Takes a Loss

Vidalia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Monterey Wolves. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wolves apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Vidalia's defeat dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Monterey, their win ended an eight-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Vidalia will challenge Madison at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Monterey, they will face off against St. Joseph's - Plaucheville at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.67 runs per game on average), something the Wolves will no doubt try to take advantage of.
