Softball Recap: Timberline's Run of Six Straight Victories Now Over

Timberline dropped their record down to 17-4 on Thursday, which also ended the team's six-game streak of wins. They fell 4-0 to the Eagle Mustangs. The Wolves were red-hot at the plate heading into the contest (they scored no less than ten runs in the six matches prior), but the Mustangs' pitchers proved too tough.

As for Eagle, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games.

For Eagle's part, Peyton Bargen was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. Bargen was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run.

In other batting news, Ellie McManigal was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Aly Vieira, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

As of now, neither Timberline nor Eagle have any future games scheduled.
