Baseball Game Preview: Orange Panthers vs. Loara Saxons

The Orange Panthers will square off against the Loara Saxons at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Loara took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Orange, who comes in off a win.

Orange is returning home triumphant after the team finally put their road woes behind them against Buena Park on Friday. The Panthers skirted past the Coyotes 4-2.

Daniel Vergara tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits.

At the plate, Orange's win was truly a team effort as eight different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Braxton Nock, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run and one RBI. Evan Gonzalez also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Meanwhile, while it was Loara who put the first runs on the board on Friday, it was Downey who put up more. The Saxons fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 6-4. The Saxons haven't had much luck with the Vikings recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

The victory got Orange back to even at 2-2. As for Loara, they now have a losing record of 1-2-1.

Orange was able to grind out a solid win over Loara in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, winning 6-2. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Saxons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
