Jefferson Area is 9-1 against Struthers since May of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Falcons will be taking part in a tournament against the Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. Jefferson Area is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8 runs per game this season.

On Tuesday, Jefferson Area narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past LaBrae 4-3. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Falcons.

Olivia Lewis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Alaina Barress, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Struthers, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They put the hurt on Heartland Christian with a sharp 11-1 win on Tuesday. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Wildcats' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Jefferson Area now has a winning record of 12-11. As for Struthers, their victory bumped their record up to 4-19.

Jefferson Area was able to grind out a solid win over Struthers in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, winning 9-6. Will the Falcons repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
