Football Recap: Wyatt Luke Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Slippery Rock

Conneaut Area hadn't done well against Slippery Rock recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Eagles walked away with a 26-13 victory over the Rockets. For the Eagles, this counts as revenge for the 16-13 win the Rockets walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

Conneaut Area's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Wyatt Luke, who rushed for 118 yards and one touchdown on only nine carries. Another signal caller making a difference was Mason Stone, who threw for 94 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 80% of his passes.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Conneaut Area was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 259 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 170 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Conneaut Area's record is now 6-1. As for Slippery Rock, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.
