The Truckee Wolverines will face off against the McQueen Lancers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. McQueen took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Truckee, who comes in off a win.
McQueen will be up against a hot Truckee squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Everything went the Wolverines' way against Debbie Smith CTE Academy on Friday as they made off with a 3-0 victory.
The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Truckee was: they took every set by at least 14 points. The final score came out to 25-11, 25-9, 25-9.
Zoe Jackson was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had 14 digs and two aces. That's the most aces she has posted over her last seven contests.
They weren't the only good servers: Truckee was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 15 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 11 consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, McQueen came up short against Spanish Springs last Thursday, falling 3-0.
McQueen was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-22, 25-8.
Truckee will have to keep a close watch on Nya Lagrone and Madi Brenner, a pair of players who had a big impact on McQueen's prior game. Lagrone had 12 digs and two aces, while Brenner had nine digs. Lagrone has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more digs the last three times she's played.
McQueen's loss dropped their record down to 13-11. As for Truckee, their win bumped their record up to 18-6.
