Basketball Game Preview: Godby Cougars vs. Rickards Raiders

The Godby Cougars will challenge the Rickards Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Godby will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Godby is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They skirted past Raines 65-62. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Cougars have posted since December 19, 2024.

Meanwhile, Rickards didn't have too much trouble with Paxon School For Advanced Studies on Wednesday as they won 49-34. Given the Raiders' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 91st, while the Golden Eagles are ranked 252nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Rickards has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-10 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.3 points over those games. As for Godby, their win bumped their record up to 18-6.

Godby beat Rickards 47-39 in their previous meeting last Friday. Will Godby repeat their success, or does Rickards have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
