New Lothrop dropped down to 5-2 on Friday, ending the team's four-game streak of wins. They took a hard 28-14 fall against the Montrose Rams. The game marked the Hornets' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Despite the loss, New Lothrop saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Aaron Wenzlick picked up 158 receiving yards and one touchdown. Those 158 receiving yards set a new season-high mark for Wenzlick.

As for Montrose, their victory was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-0. Those road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 33.7 points this season.

Griffin Oneal was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 76 yards and three scores, and also caught one TD.
