Basketball Game Preview: Marshwood Hawks vs. Brunswick Dragons

The Marshwood Hawks will square off against the Brunswick Dragons at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Marshwood and five for Brunswick.

Marshwood is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took a 68-62 hit to the loss column at the hands of Windham. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked 47th, while the Eagles are ranked fourth).

Meanwhile, Brunswick suffered their closest defeat since January 27, 2024 on Thursday. They fell just short of Mt. Ararat by a score of 54-52.

Marshwood's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Brunswick, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.

Marshwood beat Brunswick 46-35 in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Does Marshwood have another victory up their sleeve, or will Brunswick turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
