Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Bailey Miller and Audrey Scherer Lead Earlville to Victory

Earlville lost to Alden-Hebron back in November of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Wednesday. The Earlville Red Raiders blew past the Alden-Hebron Green Giants 47-21. The Red Raiders pushed the score to 41-14 by the end of the third, a deficit the Green Giants cut but never quite recovered from.

Leading Earlville to victory were Audrey Scherer and Bailey Miller. Scherer dropped a double-double on 11 points and 13 rebounds, while Miller went 5 for 7 on her way to 11 points and six boards. Those 11 points gave Scherer a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacey Helgesen, who posted four points and four steals.

Earlville smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 30 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in 19 consecutive matches.

Earlville's win bumped their record up to 9-18. As for Alden-Hebron, their defeat was their eighth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-14.

Earlville wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 47-29 loss against Somonauk/Leland on the 30th. As for Alden-Hebron, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 56-20 victory against Westminster Christian on the 31st.
