Basketball Recap: Evansville Memorial Comes Up Short

Evansville Memorial managed to keep up with Plainfield until halftime on Saturday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Evansville Memorial Tigers came up short against the Plainfield Quakers, falling 73-47. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 135th, while the Quakers are ranked 27th).

Plainfield found their leader in sophomore Hannah Menser, who went 7 for 13 from beyond the arc on her way to 25 points and eight assists. The dominant performance gave Menser a new career-high in assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Berkeley Williams, who posted 12 points and four steals.

Evansville Memorial now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Plainfield, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-3.

Evansville Memorial didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 58-36 defeat against Zionsville on the 28th. As for Plainfield, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 53-51 loss against Greensburg on the 28th.
