Recap: Tahoka Bulldogs vs. Olton Mustangs
The Tahoka Bulldogs pushed their score all the way to 48 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They received a tough blow as they fell 62-48 to Olton. Despite running the score up even higher than they did last Friday (36), Tahoka still had to take the loss.
Despite the loss, Tahoka still got an impressive performance from Brycyn Mann, who picked up 186 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Mann was no stranger to the big play, lighting up the secondary with a catch that went for 63 yards. Zane Garvin was another key contributor, rushing for 125 yards and a touchdown.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Olton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Isaiah Ruiz, who rushed for 77 yards and three touchdowns. Jaxon Tomsu made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Tahoka's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 3-6. As for Olton, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season.
Tahoka will be playing in front of their home fans against Sundown at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Olton, they will head out on the road to face off against Floydada at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
