Softball Game Preview: Genesee Valley Jaguars vs. Canisteo-Greenwood Chargers

The Genesee Valley Jaguars will square off against the Canisteo-Greenwood Chargers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Genesee Valley's pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so Canisteo-Greenwood's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

If Genesee Valley beats Canisteo-Greenwood with three runs on Monday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two matches with that exact score. The Jaguars narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Avoca Central 3-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Jaguars.

Meanwhile, Canisteo-Greenwood beat Campbell-Savona 6-1 on Sunday.

Canisteo-Greenwood has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.4 runs over those games. As for Genesee Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 15-4.
