Baseball Game Preview: Greenwood Eagles vs. Hillcrest Rams

Greenwood is 2-7 against Hillcrest since March of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Greenwood Eagles will face off against the Hillcrest Rams at 6:30 p.m.

Greenwood will bounce into Friday's game after beating Hillcrest, who they had gone 1-7 against in their eight prior meetings. Greenwood came out on top against Hillcrest by a score of 8-3 on Tuesday. The win was some much needed relief for the Eagles as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Elliott Lantz looked comfortable as he tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Greenwood is 2-1 when Lantz allowsone or fewer hits, but 2-3 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Rhett Brown was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Adams, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-4.

Greenwood's victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-4. As for Hillcrest, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3-1.
