Softball Recap: Clear Fork Comes Up Short

Clear Fork fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Highland on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Fighting Scots by a score of 8-7. The Colts were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Fighting Scots earlier this season, when they won 7-2.

Katrina Rogers made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Melodie Blubaugh, who went 2-for-5 with one home run, two RBI, and one double.

Clear Fork's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-9. As for Highland, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 12-9.

Coming up, Clear Fork will host Northmor at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Colts are facing the Golden Knights at the right time seeing as the Golden Knights are stuck on a three-game losing streak. Highland has already played their next game (against Big Walnut), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
