Football Recap: Enloe Eagles vs. Cary Imps
Enloe had to endure a five-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They blew past the Cary Imps 49-18 at home on Thursday. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-6.
Enloe got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Aj Boykin out in front who rushed for 80 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries. Chase White was another key receiver, gaining 147 total yards and a touchdown.
Enloe's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. Simbarashe Debnam-Pwiti was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two sackshimself. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 4.5 total tackles per game. Issac Olvera-Garcia was another major factor on D, making 14 total tackles and snagging an interception which he returned for a touchdown.
